1. Spacing Maintenance
Effectively maintains the spacing between double-split flexible busbars, preventing changes in distance caused by factors such as wind vibration and avoiding mutual collision or excessive proximity of the busbars.
2. Damping and Vibration Reduction
Some MRJ spacers are of the damping type, using damping materials such as rubber at the movable joints to dissipate the vibration energy of the conductors. This inhibits aeolian vibration and sub-span oscillation of the conductors.
3. Lightweight and High-Strength Material
Typically made of aluminum alloy, it is lightweight to reduce the load on the busbars while having high strength to withstand the gravity and tension of the conductors, as well as additional loads caused by harsh weather conditions.
1. Improved Line Reliability
By maintaining busbar spacing and suppressing vibrations, it reduces faults caused by busbar collisions, wear, etc., thereby enhancing the operational reliability of power lines.
2. Reduced Power Loss
Ensures more uniform current distribution between double-split busbars, minimizing power losses due to uneven current distribution. Additionally, the aluminum alloy material eliminates hysteresis losses, further reducing power consumption.
3. Convenient Installation and Maintenance
With a reasonable structural design, it is easy to install. The aluminum alloy material has excellent corrosion resistance and is not prone to rust, reducing maintenance workload and costs.
1. Mechanical Separation of Busbars
Mechanically separates double-split flexible busbars to maintain the specified spacing, meet electrical performance requirements, and reduce surface potential gradients.
2. Suppression of Busbar Vibration
Functions similarly to a stockbridge damper, oscillating with the busbars during swaying to absorb vibration energy, reduce busbar vibration amplitude, and protect busbars from fatigue damage.
3. Response to Short-Circuit Conditions
Prevents attractive collisions between double-split busbars due to electromagnetic forces during short circuits. Even if instantaneous collisions occur, it can restore the busbars to their normal state after the electromagnetic forces subside.
